In addition, we will have a talk by Dr. Geninho Thomé on innovative solutions for use in the day-to-day work of implant dentistry.


DR. GENINHO THOMÉ 

DR. GENINHO THOMÉ
He holds a B.Sc. in Dentistry from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1979) and specializes in Periodontology. He has an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Implant Dentistry. He began his scientific studies in 1990, aiming to develop more affordable implants for use in Brazil. He founded Neodent in 1993. In 1996 he gave the first course on Improvements in Implant Dentistry and Prosthesis over Implants and in 2000, the first specialization course on Implant Dentistry, both at the Brazilian Dentistry Association Paraná Region (ABO-PR). In 2004, he founded the Latin American Institute for Dental Research and Education (ILAPEO) with Dr. Clemilda de Paula Thomé. It is now Neodent’s main clinical research center. After 20 years of success and growth, Neodent was acquired by the Swiss Straumann Group in 2015. Currently, Dr. Geninho Thomé is Scientific President of Neodent, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Neodent, Director of Research and Development for ILAPEO and teaches on the M.Sc. course at ILAPEO.

DR. CHRISTIAN COACHMAN 

DR. CHRISTIAN COACHMAN
Graduated in Dental Prosthesis in 1995 and in Dentistry from the University of São Paulo in 2002. Member of the Brazilian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (ABOE / SBOE), the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED). In 2014, Dr Christian Coachman was invited by Dr Goldstein, Gerber and Salama of Team Atlanta to take the post of Head Ceramist, a position he held for 4 years. Dr Coachman has worked for several renowned dental clinics around the world, such as Dr Van Dooren (Belgium), Gurel (Turkey), Fradeani (Italy) Bichacho (Israel), Ricci (Italy) and Sidney Kina, Claudio Pinto, Paulo Kano, Mario Groisman and Marcelo Calamita in Brazil. He has developed techniques that have become global benchmarks such as the dental-gingival prosthesis technique “Pink Hybrid Restoration”, the concepts of interdisciplinary planning and communication “Digital Smile Design” (DSD), Emotional Dentistry, "Digital Planning Center”, Interdisciplinary Treatment Simulation and Donor Smile. Founding partner and CEO of the company DSD-Digital Smile Design, he currently divides his time between his family practice Well Clinic, located in São Paulo, and the office of the DSD company in Madrid, Spain. He is Director of the DSD Residency program, with continuing education courses for dental professionals around the world. He also works as a consultant for companies, laboratories and dental clinics, implementing concepts, developing products and marketing strategies such as Facially Drive Digital Orthodontic Workflow. He runs courses and gives talks in every continent, covering such diverse topics as Esthetic and Digital Dentistry, Digital Dental Photography, Oral Rehabilitation, Dental Ceramics and Implants, in addition to Communication and Marketing Strategies in Dentistry. In 2017, Dr Christian Coachman became assistant professor at the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

DR. FLORIN COFAR 

DR. FLORIN COFAR
Attended University of Victor Babes, Timisoara, where he received his degree in dentistry in 2007. He is a post-graduate of NYU College of Dentistry and a Harvard Business school attendee. Specialized in esthetic interdisciplinary dentistry, working closely with other respected dentists in the field such as Christian Coachman, Eric van Dooren and Paulo Kano. Is an international speaker on Dental Aesthetics, Digital Dentistry, Smile Design, having lectured in more than 30 countries, including respected Academies like The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and Brazilian Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Known for his videography work in dentistry, he is author of some of the most popular videos in the dental field. In the present, is lecturing all around the world and practicing dentistry in his own practice in Timisoara, Romania.


Success factors for implants and aesthetics

What are the Success Factors, from the aesthetic and functional point of view, in implant rehabilitation?
Implant prosthesis re-establishes function and aesthetic orofacial harmonization, restoring the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Once treatment planning is completed, the surgeon makes the necessary prognosis and directs the clinical procedures. The Second Theme of the 5th Neodent Congress brings important names in the field who will present techniques and technologies used in clinical procedures, with extensive discussion based on the scientific literature.

Full-time professor and head of the clinic of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Plastic Surgery at the J. Gutenberg Mainz University Medical Center. Assistant associate professor at the Kyung Hee University School of Dentistry, Seoul, Korea. A graduate in Dentistry and Medicine and affiliate at Mainz University for over 15 years. His main clinical and scientific focus is oral implantology, through clinical studies and basic research. His field of clinical research is based on patients with risk factors or local bone deficiency, as well as on reconstruction due to tumors and cleft palates. He has published over 150 articles in peer-reviewed publications. He is a fellow of ITI, German section, Education Delegate, member of the research committee and member of the ITI board. In 2006 and 2010 he won the award for "Best professor at the School of Medicine". He is chairman of the International Federation of Dental Anesthesiology Societies (IFDAS) and general secretary of the German Society of Implantology (DGI).Graduated in Dentistry and Medicine and affiliated to the University of Mainz for more than 15 years. His mayor clinical and scientific focus in dental implantology are clinical studies and basic research. Clinical workfields are compromised patients with risk factors or local bone deficiency, but also tumor and cleft reconstructions. He published over 150 publications in peer reviewed journals: He is a Fellow of the ITI Section Germany, Education Delegate, Member of the Research Committee and Member of the ITI Board. In 2006 & 2010 he was awarded: “Best Teacher at the Medical Faculty”. He is President of the International Federation of Dental Anesthesiology Societies (IFDAS) and Secretary General of the German Society of Implantalogy (DGI).

DR. CAESAR BUTURA 

DR. CAESAR BUTURA
A graduate in Dentistry from the University of Columbia, USA, he later completed the oral and maxillofacial surgery program at the University of Illinois Medical Center, in Chicago. Dr Butura is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ABOMS). He holds qualifications from the ABOMS and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and is also a fellow member of the Academy of Osseointegration and of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr Butura has lectured extensively on topics related to implant surgery and has numerous publications in prestigious peer-reviewed magazines. He has served as Secretary / Treasurer and Chairman of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Arizona and has occupied several posts in Brazilian associations. Dr Butura has been named as one of the best dentists in the United States in the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery by the American Board of Excellence since 2007 and is currently a member of the Clear Choice Clinical Consultant Board.

DR. CARLOS ARAÚJO 

DR. CARLOS ARAÚJO
He holds a B.Sc. in Dentistry (Oral-Maxillofacial Prosthodontics) from the University of São Paulo (1979), and an M.Sc. in Oral Rehabilitation Dentistry from the University of São Paulo (1983) and a Ph.D. in Oral Rehabilitation from the University of São Paulo (1989). He is currently a senior lecturer at the University of São Paulo. He is experienced in the field of dentistry, specializing in Clinical Dentistry, working principally in osseo-integrated implants, occlusions, aesthetics, temporomandibular disorder (TMD) and implant prosthesis.

DR. DANIEL F. GALINDO 

DR. DANIEL F. GALINDO
He was awarded his degree in dentistry from the Javeriana University, in Bogotá, Colombia. He then undertook specialized training at the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center, where he obtained the certificate of dental prosthesis specialist. Later, he acted as assistant professor at the Department of Dental Prosthesis and Dentistry at the University of Connecticut School of Dentistry and is currently Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center, Department of Post-graduate Course in Prosthesis. He obtained his Certification from the American Board of Prosthodontics. He is certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics and is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists and the International College of Dentists. Dr Galindo is former Chairman of the Arizona Section of the American College of Prosthodontists, former Chairman of the Scottsdale / Paradise Valley Study Club, and is an active member of the American Dental Association, Arizona Dental Association, and Central Arizona Dental Society, as well as the American College of Prosthodontists, Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and American Prosthodontic Society. Active in dental research, Dr Galindo attends numerous continuing education courses every year and has published research and clinical technique work. He has presented at several national and international dental meetings, including the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, the American Prosthodontic Society and the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry.

DR. MARCOS MOTTA DE FREITAS 

DR. MARCOS MOTTA DE FREITAS
He holds a B.Sc. in Dentistry from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), 1983. He studied post-graduate courses in Dental Prosthesis (UERJ), Dentistry (ABO-RJ) and specialist courses in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the University of Greater Rio (UNIGRANRIO). He has an M.Sc. in Dentistry, specializing in Implant Dentistry (UNIGRANRIO). He coordinates the specialist course on Implant Dentistry at UNIGRANRIO (Caxias Campus). He has published various scientific articles and contributions to books. He has presented at congresses and meetings in the field since 1989.

He holds a B.Sc. in Dentistry from the Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho State University (UNESP) (1982), an M.Sc. in Restorative Dentistry from UNESP (1986) and a Ph.D. in Restorative Dentistry from UNESP (1989). He is now a Full Professor at UNESP, where he is also a Level 1a Researcher funded by the Brazilian Federal Research Agency (CNPq). He is experienced in Dentistry, specializing in Periodontics, working mainly on: dental implants, osseointegration, biocompatible materials, and peri-implantitis.

DR. GARY FINELLE 

DR. GARY FINELLE
Dr Gary Finelle received his Dental Degree from the University of Paris 7, France in 2009. He completed his doctoral thesis working on soft tissue healing around implants. Between 2011 and 2013, he joined the Advanced Graduate Program of Oral Implantology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston as a full time resident. His major field of interests is the application of digital technology into the surgical and prosthetic implant treatment workflow. He is involved in implant related research and has published in scientific peer-reviewed journals. Now based in Paris, Dr Gary Finelle, lectures nationally and internationally. He is currently an ITI fellow and speaker (International Team for Oral Implantology), an active member of the American Dental Club of Paris, and of EAO (European Academy of Osseointegration). His private practice in Paris embraces esthetics, surgical and restorative implant rehabilitations.

DRA. IVETE A. DE MATTIAS SARTORI

She holds a B.Sc. in Dentistry from the Faculty of Dentistry of Araçatuba (1980), a specialization in Restorative Dentistry from the São Paulo State University (UNESP-Araçatuba), a specialization in Periodontics from the São Paulo State Association of Dental Surgeons (APCD-Bauru), and an M.Sc. (1999) and a Ph.D. (2002) in Oral Rehabilitation from the University of São Paulo Dentistry Faculty in Ribeirão Preto. She was a lecturer on the Undergraduate Course in Dentistry at the Sacred Heart University - Bauru-SP (USC) from 1993 to 2015 and Vice-President and Coordinator of the Professional Master’s Degree in Dentistry and the Specialization Course in Dental Prosthesis at ILAPEO (Curitiba-PR) from 2008 to 2014. She currently lectures on the Professional Master’s Degree course in Dentistry at ILAPEO (Curitiba, PR), on the Specialization Courses in Implant Dentistry at the University of São Paulo (FUNDECTO) and the PROFIS-Bauru Cleft Palate Society, as well as on the Professional Development Course in Implant Dentistry in Clinica Mollaris, Leiria, Portugal and on intensive Professional Development Courses in PSI (Ilapeo College, Curitiba). She is the responsible specialist at the Mattias Sartori Dentistry and Health Clinic in Bauru and is a Scientific Consultant for Neodent Osseointegrated Implants. She teaches on short courses and conferences in Brazil and Latin America. She has experience in the area of Dentistry, with an emphasis on Dental Prosthesis, primarily regarding prosthesis over implants, implants, prosthesis, aesthetics and oral rehabilitation.

DR. MASSIMO FROSECCHI 

DR. MASSIMO FROSECCHI
Dr. Frosecchi graduated in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics from the University of Florence, Italy. He has completed post-graduate courses in implantology in Italy, and the US. He is an ITI Fellow, ITI Study Club Director, and International ITI speaker on bone grafting and implantology, and is the founder and President of “Il Giglio aggiornarsi a Firenze”, an association dedicated to dental education in Italy. He has served on several National Dental Committees in Italy, and lectures at several universities in Italy and Brazil. He works in private practice in Florence, Italy, and is an active member of the Italian Academy of Microscopic Dentistry, the International Piezosurgery Academy. He is also assistant professor in implantology at the University of Genoa, Italy.

He graduated from the University of Texas, San Antonio, and followed a career in the United States Navy. He continued with a general residency and another 3-year residency in Periodontics at the Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He is a specialized periodontist in advanced procedures such as immediate loading protocols in completely edentulous patients, bone regeneration and advanced periodontal disease. Dr Dan Holtzclaw is certified by the American Academy of Periodontology and by the Internal Congress of Implantologists. He has also been chief editor of the Journal of Implant & Advanced Clinical Dentistry since 2007, as well as being a reviewer of another 5 dental magazines. He has won the award for excellence in research from the International College of Dentists and has published over 50 articles in peer-reviewed magazines and book chapters. He has taught over 150 conferences and classes around the world. He was named as a "Leader in Continuing Dental Education” by Dentistry Today Magazine for 12 consecutive years.

Joe Bhat is currently a Hon. Visiting Professor at Maharishi Markandeshwar University, India. He is a registered specialist in Prosthodontics and Oral Surgery and limits his practice to Implant and Restorative Dentistry. His clinical time is spent as a private referral practitioner at the Moor Park Specialist Dental Centre. He has also been a Clinical Lecturer for the Master of Clinical Dentistry program at the Eastman Dental Institute in London. He is currently a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Fellow of the International College of Dentists (ICD) and Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh for the Diploma in Implant Dentistry.

DR. LUIS EDUARDO MARQUES PADOVAN 

DR. LUIS EDUARDO MARQUES PADOVAN
Holds a B.Sc. in Dentistry from the University of Marília (1993) and an M.Sc. (1999) and Ph.D. (2002) in Dentistry from São Paulo State University - UNESP - Araçatuba. He is currently a Permanent Lecturer on the Stricto Sensu Post-graduate Program in Dentistry specializing in the field of Implant Dentistry at ILAPEO - Curitiba - PR. He is a member of the clinical team and is responsible for the oral and maxillo-facial surgery and trauma services of the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Jaú Hospital - SP. He is an oral and maxillo-facial surgery and trauma surgeon at the Beneficência Portuguesa de Bauru Hospital - SP. He is experienced in Dentistry, specializing in oral and maxillo-facial surgery and traumatology, and in Implant Dentistry. He specializes in trauma surgery and facial rehabilitations with bone grafts, zygomatic implants and orthognathic surgeries. He is a member of the Brazilian College of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery and Traumatology. He is an Associate of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID).

DR. SERGIO BERNARDES

He is a lecturer at ILAPEO and at Equipe de Reabilitacao Oral e Estetica do Rio de Janeiro Ltda (EROE/RJ). He holds a Ph.D. in Oral Rehabilitation from USP Ribeirão Preto, with support from the Eastman Dental Institute in London, and an M.Sc. in Oral Rehabilitation from the Federal University of Uberlândia, specialist diplomas in Implant Dentistry from CFO and Dental Prosthesis from APCD-Bauru. An MBA from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and a B.Sc. in Dentistry from UFRJ (1998). He is a member of the Portuguese Order of Medical Dentists and the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants (IJOMI) and is the Editor-in-Chief of Prosthesis Laboratory in Science.
